rates

Project contracts can be arranged on an hourly, per word, or per project basis, depending on the nature of your project. If you have a project in mind and want to know how much it will cost, please tell us your project's timeline, framework, and deliverables, and we will provide you with a quote.

Remember—all initial consultations, as well as any discussions or negotiations regarding the arrangement of project contracts, are absolutely free of charge. Also, you are fully protected by a written contract—all work we do is covered by a written agreement that spells out exactly what we will provide to you, when we will provide it, and how much it will cost. There are never any hidden fees or surprises.

Although rates vary from one project to another, they will typically lie in the following range:

Writing
$50 to $75 per hour, or 10-15 cents per word

Editing
$30 to $50 per hour

Note: All rates are in Canadian dollar currency. We accept cheques, money orders, and PayPal as payment (credit card payments can also be made via PayPal).

Writing Tips

Active voice is usually preferable to passive voice—but why? The reason is, active voice always specifies a subject for the reader, as in: "Martha closed the door and drove the car away." In contrast, passive voice sentences have an unclear subject, as in "The door was closed, and the car driven away." Note that in this sentence, the subject is missing—who closed the door and drove the car?
